Warranty, Returns and repairs
1. Warranty Coverage
At SpeedGuns, we are committed to supplying quality products and providing professional after-sales support.
All products sold by SpeedGuns are inspected prior to dispatch and are covered against manufacturing defects for a period of six (6) months from the original date of purchase, subject to the terms of this policy and any applicable consumer protection legislation.
Where a product carries a manufacturer's warranty beyond six months, such warranty is provided solely by the manufacturer and remains subject to the manufacturer's terms, conditions, exclusions, and approval procedures.
2. What the Warranty Covers
The SpeedGuns warranty covers manufacturing defects in materials or workmanship occurring during normal use of the product.
Where a valid warranty claim is approved within the six-month warranty period, SpeedGuns will, at its discretion:

Repair the product;

Replace the product with the same or an equivalent model; or

Refund the purchase price where appropriate.
3. Warranty Exclusions
This warranty does not cover defects or damage resulting from:

Accidental damage.

Dropping or impact damage.
-
Water or liquid ingress.
-
Fire, lightning, flooding, or power surges.
-
Incorrect installation.
-
Misuse, abuse, or negligence.
-
Commercial or industrial use where the product is not intended for such applications.

Failure to follow the manufacturer's operating instructions.
-
Unauthorised repairs, alterations, or modifications.
-
Normal wear and tear.
-
Cosmetic damage that does not affect the operation of the product.

Consumable items such as batteries.
Products found not to have a manufacturing defect may be returned to the customer at the customer's expense.
4. Manufacturer Warranty Claims Beyond Six Months
Some products may include a manufacturer's warranty extending beyond the six-month SpeedGuns warranty period.
Where a customer requests assistance with a manufacturer's warranty claim after six months, SpeedGuns may, at its discretion, assist by forwarding the product to the relevant supplier or manufacturer for assessment.
As this process may involve administration, international courier charges, customs documentation, inspection, and communication with overseas suppliers, a reasonable handling and service fee may apply.
This fee covers the administration and logistics involved in processing the claim and does not guarantee that the manufacturer or supplier will approve the warranty claim.
Any repair, replacement, or warranty decision after six months remains solely at the discretion of the manufacturer or supplier.
If a warranty claim is declined, all return shipping and associated costs shall be the responsibility of the customer.
5. Repairs
Products outside the SpeedGuns warranty period, or products not covered by warranty, may be eligible for repair where replacement parts and technical support are available.
A quotation will be provided before any chargeable repairs are undertaken.
6. Returns
All returns require prior authorisation from SpeedGuns.
Before returning a product, customers must contact us to obtain return instructions.
Products returned for reasons other than a warranty claim must:

Be returned in their original condition.

Include all accessories, manuals, and packaging where possible.

Be accompanied by proof of purchase.
Special-order or customer-specific imported products may not be eligible for return unless faulty or otherwise required by applicable law.
7. Return Shipping
Unless otherwise required by law:

Customers are responsible for the cost of returning products to SpeedGuns.

Where a valid warranty claim is approved within the six-month warranty period, SpeedGuns will cover the cost of returning the repaired or replacement product within South Africa.

For manufacturer warranty claims processed after six months, shipping, customs charges, handling fees, and any other associated costs may be payable by the customer.
